The faith that the makers have in him is still intact. He is none other than Chiyaan Vikram, the heartthrob of Tamilnadu and a salable star in Andhra Pradesh.

Right now 130 crore rupees are riding on Vikram. His next release is an action thriller Thandavam, which is directed by AL Vijay. This movie will release for Diwali and it stars Anushka and Amy Jackson as the female leads. Vikram's I under Shankar direction was recently launched and it is a mega budget film.

Thandavam is being made with 50 crore budget and Shankar's I estimated budget is Rs. 80 crore. Producers used to invest so much money only on super star Rajanikanth. Vikram doesn't have great following among the masses, but he has immense respect as an actor and when he is backed up with a good script he is no less than any superstar.
