HYDERABAD: A case has been filed by college managements asking for uniform fee structure and hike in fee ealier. The Supreme Court is set to hear the case tomorrow. A day before the hearing of the Supreme court, as many as 500 of 710 engineering colleges in the state have decided to forgo fee hike this year. Hence, the engineering college fee will remain at Rs 31,500 for merit or convener quota seats and Rs 95,000 for management seats in those colleges.
The colleges demanded the government to hold separate counselling for those institutions demanding a huge fee hike. This indicates that at least over 100 colleges in the state would have a fee hike ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 35,000 as calculated by Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee.
